You still have problems with this release?
The following text might help.


Problem 1: 
     Source code compiled. But you cannot leave
     fields like the location definition with ESC (in the beginning
     or g.region etc.

Solution:     
   textedit src421/src/CMD/head/linux
   Change
     CURSES              = -lncurses $(TERMLIB)
   to
     CURSES              = -lcurses $(TERMLIB)

Problem 1b: 
     The problem still occurs or curses give compiling errors.
       
Solution:
     Your libcurses are too old. Take the libcurses from Slackware 3.3
     or the libcurses.a file included in my source421-package.
     Then you have to recompile everything.
     Take it from  src421/linux-lib/elfcurses_bin.tgz

Problem 2: 
     Problems with the ps.map command:

Solution:
       1. the ps.map needs to be compiled with the -fwritable-strings flag
       2. the way is to edit the src/CMD/head/linux header-file
             + add -fwritable-strings at the end of COMPILE_FLAGS line
               COMPILE_FLAGS = -O -fwritable-strings
             + cd to src.alpha/ps.map
             + run gmake4.2
             + cd to src/CMD
             + run MAKELINKS.header42 (or MAKELINKS.my)
